Helps replace the picks they have to give up at some point for Babcock/Lou.

I'm hoping the Leafs just act like that never happened. Do you really see Bettman confronting Lou about it?

Assuming those picks aren't forgotten, I'm wondering if the Leafs can take on of their newly acquired seconds and convert it to 2 third-round picks from the same team in consecutive years? That would use up one pick, but hopefully pay all of Lou's debts in one fell swoop, without having to resort to cement shoes.

Would you say Lou and Babcock have already 'paid' for themselves, pick-wise?

Meh trade for me.  Because we have to wait so long to actually see these picks used!  :o

Good trade Lou.  :)

Not like second rounders step right into the NHL anyway.  In the next few seasons Leafs have to work in the current Marlies who are doing well, then the other guys they've recently selected in 2015/2014/2013 drafts etc, then hope that the future picks 2016 and onward keep replenishing the system with solid prospects.  That's the dream anyway.  Every extra pick can help.

Indubastably.    :D

Wasn't pleased to hear that Torres was part of the deal, but quite happy to learn he will rot on the San Jose AHL team! Keep that scumbag away from this franchise!

2 second rounders is a solid return, even though they aren't in this years draft....patience grasshopper!

Once you can snatch this Grasshopper from my hand..without mess then Kwy Chang you can have your own TV series set in the Ol West.

Well, not before you pick up this 300 pound, red hot cast iron stove with your wrists.

Polak & Spalding, both happy to be going to San Jose:

"It's always good to play the game when it actually means something. Now, we are in Toronto and I can speak for us both that we both like it here, but if you have games that doesn't mean anything, you are just playing because you're playing," Polak said. "It's always good to go to a team that has a chance in the playoffs so we can actually play for something. ... I think that's a great feeling. "

Good luck!

I thought this summed up this season nicely. I was talking to my father today and mentioned the Leafs making a trade and he asked for the details and I said "The Leafs traded Roman Polak and..." and then I had to think for a while about what Spaling's first name is. I think I eventually went with Nate.

Out of everyone on this board, you'd think you'd remember his name.

only by subtraction.  I am ready to give Rogers holy hell. Gamecenter now longer works at all and switches me to NHL.com that says I need the latest version of Flashplayer which I have now downloaded 85 times.
Any ideas?
