Preseason GDT 7: Leafs @ Red Wings W4-3 OT

That 3rd goal detroit goal was on Gardiner in my opinion, he just left the puck there in the corner and allowed Zetterberg to take the puck behind the net with speed.

Aulie should start in the AHL this year based on the pre-season.  Also say what you will about Bozie, but that third line is a non-factor without him.

Aulie made Holmstrom look like a little boy on one play tonight.

When the season gets going, that type of player can be very valuable. He was very effective last year against some pretty tough lines.

WIGWAL, I was just about to post that Gardiner, impressive offensively as he's been, probably needs some work in the A to sharpen up his play in his own end.  This period has exposed him a bit when he's pressured.

Playing with Komi hasn't exactly helped.

Yeah, hard to argue with that.  I think he can hang up here though, he's being hamstrung at least in part by playing with Komi, first period not included.  I'd like to see him play with Schenn tomorrow.  His skating is elite, even at this level.

This is the one part of his game I've liked.  He has seemed off this pre-season, even slower than last year and made a couple of bad outlets.  Gunnarson has been weak the past few games too.

Komi point taken (you too Chev).

Gus looked good on that last PK.
