I like Timmins and don't know why they stopped playing him last year. Think he should stick with the club

In terms of pure offence, Timmins is better than Sandin. Liljegren also played his best hockey when paired with Sandin; I wonder if Klingberg is in fact injured for some stretch, they'll run Timmins + Liljegren together for some time.

It would require someone (Rielly?) to move to RD though:

McCabe - Brodie
Gio - Rielly
Timmins - Liljegren

They?re playing McCabe on the right side now and he?s done it before.

Rielly-McCabe
Brodie-Liljegren
Giordano-Timmins

is the way to go if we are down Klingberg.

Gregor-Holmberg-Lafferty is solid as expected (especially against pseudo-NHL Sabres). We have to live with it, but the Reaves signing is gumming up roster flexibility.

Lafferty > Reaves
Healthy Timmins = diminished Klingberg

Holmberg draws a penalty protecting the puck on an empty net scoring chance and Keefe rewards him with a PP shift with the rest of the kids. Pays off in a Timmins bookending goal to cap off this game.

Good for Cowan, he's gonna go back to junior full of confidence after a great camp. Hope he has a great year and is ready to go for next season

Was kind of hoping Jones would let in a stinker with the game out of reach so he could slip through waivers more easily.

It's very much Tavares and the kids, but the 'depth' is all the Marlies high-end or Leafs cusp players aside from Clifford. I'd personally want to try Gregor-Holmberg-Lafferty out as that would be a potential Leafs 4th line, but they do want to try out Lafferty's wheels with Tavares.

Keefe: I thought [Lafferty] had a good game tonight. I thought Gregor also had a good game. I wanted to get a look at those guys together with Holmberg. I was interested in that. That is why we took him away from Tavares today ? just to get a look at that, and at the same time, give Robertson a chance up with John.
I really liked the speed of Gregor and Lafferty together. Whether it is five-on-five or PK, that is a great asset.

Starting to think Timmins isn't getting through waivers.
Chances were slim to none he'd pass before. He's def not now so something has to give barring injury. I'd say the same is probably true now with Lafferty and Gregor as well.
Leafs need to keep 13F and 7D so if that means trading Jarnkrok, so be it.

Of course I throw a dig at Lafferty and he has himself a pretty good game(even against the Sabres).

He just needed to play with the right linemates (N-S style). He's a bit tunnel visiony at times, but he has wheels and decent hands and will body his way through obstacles. The Leafs PK system loves players like him.

Hard to say for certain without seeing the whole team, but based on Traverse City and preseason so far, the Leafs system has adjusted to a more direct approach. From DZ-NZ it's straight North, and in the OZ, you get the Marner style E-W swirl.

Also it must be noted:
Domi: fassthole
Bertuzzi: fassthole
Lafferty: verry fassthole
Gregor: verry fassthole
Reaves: slowasshole

Knies: big pretty fassthole
Cowan: cheerful fassthole
Hirovnen: little fassthole
Tverberg: unhinged fassthole
Minten: nerd

Gregor's not under contract, so he's already prime for poaching if a team really wanted him. If he's not signed by someone in the next few days, that's a pretty strong indication he'd pass through waivers.

I'd be reluctant to trade Jarnkrok. I think he gives good value for $2.1M.
He doesn't produce much without a top six influence and he's got 5 goals in 86 playoff games. Having flexibility is more important for me and I like him. He didn't do much in the playoffs though.
