This tweet kinda makes it seem like "new coach hates offence and is hurting Niemela" so just to clear a couple of things up:

Because of an injury Niemela has only played in 3 of Karpat's 8 games since their coaching change, where he did go pointless in all of them. But he got 6 shots on net in those 3 games which is actually slightly more than his season average so it's not as if he's been completely neutered. His new coach is also still playing him on their top pair.

Also his offence started to dry up well before this coaching change, which took place on February 27th. In Sept/Oct/Nov Niemela had 22 points in 25 games. In Dec/Jan/Feb, all before the coaching change, Niemala had just 8 points in 19 games.

Thanks! I knew he was tapering off and suffered an injury, but I haven't dug into what has been happening (what with the world falling apart)
