SCF: Florida Panthers vs. Edmonton Oilers

I guess they?ll be time for a post mortem and all that crap but Tkachuk had 3 points in 2 games and 0 in 5 games. They won despite that but still, seems notable.

Draisaitl had 0 goals in 7 games. That?s impressive.

McD had no pts in GMs 1, 6,7...

Can't wait for the rumors they're asking their leading scorer to waive his no move clause because he wimps out in the games that matter most...[/sarcasm]

There would have been no games 6 or 7 without him.

Good game 7.

Florida played their defensive game very well tonight.

I'm very happy for Paul Maurice.

So basically McDavid is a choker.

Should be able to get him cheap to come to Toronto then

From The Athletic's report on Game 7:

Panthers reached the Final in just the third season after their 1993 inception, then went from that 1996 Eastern Conference championship until 2022 without winning a playoff round. That included 10 consecutive seasons without making the playoffs.

So here's hope for the Leafs yet

Wanted Edmonton to win.  Really disappointed they didn't.  Was hoping to see McDavid hoist the Cup and a Canadian fanbase celebrate a Cup win again.

I don't give a damn about the Panthers and eff them.  But I'm really happy for Maurice.  He deserves it.  That interview and Cup raising were epic.

The first period in particular gave me flash backs of our series against the Panthers.  Lots of late hits that were never going to get called in a Game 7.  Overall I thought both teams got away with a lot of stuff.  I think there was rumblings of Draisaitl having something with his hand.  McDavid I'm sure has injuries because everyone does by Game 7 of a Cup Finals but he looked gassed in the 3rd period.  They probably should have played the 2nd/3rd lines another shift or two down the stretch because he had nothing for the final 2 minutes.

McDavid didn't pull off that deke in front of the net and missed what looked like an easy tip and Draisaitl missed from his office all in the 3rd. I was surprised they didn't tie it. They're amazing but it was tough to watch missed opportunities in the 3rd period of Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final. I believed McDavid was going to make sure that game got tied.

I am guessing Draisaitl had a very significant injury.

You couldn't help yourself. Comparing Marner to McDavid is beyond asinine, even for sarcasm.
