I don't mind the logo, though my immediate reaction was "Chicago White Sox" and I'm not even a baseball fan.

I'm also not a fan of a singular noun for a team name, especially when it's an animal/creature/person. Utah Jazz, Miami Heat, Minnesota Wild, etc. are OK because they're concepts.

In my mind, the Seattle Kraken is as dumb as the Toronto Maple Leaf.

Hooray!  Finally some creativity and a bit of outside-the-suits thinking.

I dig the colors too.  The logos are just OK.
 
I'm glad the chose the Kraken for their name, but to me that logo is such a boring disappointment.  :'(  They could have made it so cool!
