Of course, not to be overlooked are the English clubs, namely Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Ajax & Man City.

Ajax is from the Netherlands.

Don't be such a stickler for the facts. To some people, that's just the east, east, east end of London.

Tough draw for TFC - http://tsn.ca/chl/story/?id=379961
Good match-up for the fans

Can hardly wait for the match-up.  We TFC fans will have to wait 'till March.  The winner is to play either the Seattle Sounders or Santos Laguna in the semis.

Whether the game with the Galaxy will take place at the Rogers Centre remains to be seen.  Would be better than BMO Field, because in early March, it will still be c-o-l-d.
Who knows what they'll decide.

BTW  the Galaxy are scoreless at BMO Feuld since 2009.  This could be to the TFC's advantage.

It's strange that the game itself isn't until next March - I guess they don't have eligible / ineligible rules <cup tied> for any players. It looks good for TFC now but if the Galaxy go out and spent a boatload this off-season they might not feel the same. I think this is Becks last year under contract with the Galaxy too.

6-2 now...Portugal, Czechs, Crotia, & Northern Ireland are the last 4 teams to qualify for next summer's Euro.
It's Ireland (victims of the Thierry Henry handball 2 years ago) not Northern Ireland who qualified. Northern Ireland finished 5th in the same group as Italy and Estonia.

Canada moves on in WC qualifying...http://tsn.ca/soccer/story/?id=380538

Canada advanced on Remembrance Day with a 0-0 draw in St. Kitts. Last night's 4-0 win was the icing on the cake. They move on to the next round starting in June where they will face Honduras, Panama, and Cuba. Top 2 teams from this group will advance to the final round.

Dates have been announced for the TFC/LA Galaxy CONCACAF Champion's League quarter-final. 1st leg in Toronto on March 7th with the 2nd leg in LA on March 14th. Location of the Toronto game is still to be determined.

Someone asked about the timing previously. After the MLS Cup this weekend, the league doesn't get running again until March/April. The preliminary and group stages come around as the Mexican and most of the Central American leagues get started so it balances out to some extent. Teams submit a 30 player list at the start of the prelims and can do so again when the knockout stage starts.

The CSA has announced the fixture list for Round 3 of World Cup qualifying. Home dates are in bold.

8 June 2012 ? Cuba v Canada
12 June 2012 ? Canada v Honduras
7 September 2012 ? Canada v Panama
11 September 2012 ? Panama v Canada
12 October 2012 ? Canada v Cuba
16 October 2012 ? Honduras v Canada

Locations for the 3 home games are still TBA.

The L.A. Galaxy are crowned MLS Champions, defeating the Houston Dynamo 1-0, on Landon Donovan's goal.  It's also Galaxy striker David Beckham's first-ever championship on North American soil.  The Galaxy won at home at Home Depot Centre, where they had gone undefeated throughout the entire season.

Perfect home record to a perfect championship!

Bit of a surprising day in the real champions league today.

EPL leaders Manchester City are in real danger of not qualifying for the knockout round.

They must win at home to Bayern Munich and if they win, Napoli will have to lose or draw to pointless Villareal.

A Napoli win will mean City is out.
