The Official Weather Thread

Another storm watch for most of SW Ontario right now.  Winds, hail, rain yada yada...  Hell of a storm came thru last evening!

We put the a/c in last night cause it was so frickin' humid??and today is windy and blowing rain --just sheets of it, can't even see across the road. wth?

Really feeling awful for all those flooded out West.  Thousands of people out of their homes.  The Scotiabank Saddledome, home of the Calgary Flames, is flooded up to the 10th row of seats and heavily damaged the locker rooms.  The jumbotron and all of its equipment has been destroyed...

Meanwhile in Ontario:
Special weather statement for heat in southern Ontario
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement that covers all of southern Ontario from Windsor to London, Niagara, Toronto, north to Parry Sound/Muskoka and east all the way to Cornwall.

Temperatures are expected to top off in the low thirties with humidex values around 40, today until Tuesday.

I really feel like 20 years from now this thread is going to have posts that read like: "Man, it's terrible that everyone west of the city has to dodge Buick-sized chunks of hail while everyone east of the city is currently on fire."

This explains how and why the Alberta flooding happened...

Harvey the Hound's head was found floating in the Saddledome.  It ain't pretty:

Power outages, flash-flashing, torrential rain downpours, severe thunderstorms in Toronto & GTA.  More of the same expected tomorrow.

Square One in Mississauga issued evacuations, while commuters in Toronto taking the TTC (buses & subways at certain stations) met with extended delays and loss of service.  Union Station was reportedly flooding accordIng to police.

Rain has totalled some 90mm in some region in Ontario - more than one month's worth!  50-75mm by evening in some parts of GTA.

Mother Nature please stop!

... and on a related note, Cars just about completely under water on the DVP which is closed - again. What's the deal? We've had lots of rain before but I don't remember so many problems.

@CP24: Tonight's rainfall has surpassed the previous record of 29.2 mm set in 2008.  Current amount is 94 mm.

We're apparently approaching Hurricane Hazel levels of rain, and, with another storm expected to hit tonight, we could surpass it.
