I don't think the Leafs can afford to take a chance that his knee is okay. It seems to me that they have done this before and it ended badly.

Must be thinking of Antropov, but his knee problems happened after the draft and they did derail the first 4 years of his time in Toronto.
If you draft Galchenyuk, the assumption would have to be that it will take a year for him to fully recover, which means he spends the season in junior. Need to be patient with a draft pick anyway, but would have to be extra patient with him I would think.
