TSNBobMcKenzie:  Hearing Maple Leaf Nazem Kadri's knee injury will sideline him for three to four weeks. Official word expected from TOR in the morning.

God, I hate the preseason.  >:(

It's a damn shame the Leafs feel the need to play so many preseason games just to make a buck!

This is what happens when you play 1 million preseason games.

On a completely separate note does Connolly have a concussion?

From Rotoworld:

Tim Connolly (upper body) skated on his own for about 20 minutes on Thursday.
It was the first time he took to the ice since falling head first into the end boards behind the goal on Monday at practice. He is listed as day-to-day with what coach Ron Wilson classified as a minor upper-body injury.

If he had a concussion, he wouldn't be back on the ice so quickly. It's more likely that he jammed his shoulder or wrist or something along those lines.

Huh?  They have played 6 preseason games, and his injury happened during a practice when he fell on his own, into the boards??? 9 of the 30 teams have played 6 games.  Another 12 teams have played 5 so far.  So 21 of 30 teams have played the same amount or one fewer game.  That doesn't even factor in that the first 2-3 games were pretty much mish-mash of prospect assessment.

Well, for the record, Kadri's injury didn't happen in practice, it was mid-way through the 3rd against Ottawa.

Whoops, my bad, I was thinking of Lombardi, but again, I don't think Kadri playing in the game was really a huge issue in him hurting his knee.

Lombardi was hurt during a regular season game?

Let's try this one more time.  I was thinking of Connolly.  I'm prepping for a day in Cardiology tomorrow and clearly have not been paying much attention to what I am posting.

Who the heck is Connolly?

;)

I was reading the TSN article about the Leafs and was surprised how much the Leafs improved over the summer:

Additions: C Tim Connolly, C Matthew Lombardi, D John-Michael Liles, D Cody Franson, C Philippe Dupuis

Subtractions: C Tim Brent, C Christian Hanson, D Brett Lebda, D Danny Richmond, G Jean-Sebastian Giguere

Replace Giguere with Reimer and the Leafs must be better.

I don't know.  I think Liles will be hard-pressed to replace Lebda.

A nice little article about Zigomanis' role in the organization:

With Alex Foster off to Europe, Ziggy should be a shoe-in for the Marlies new captain.

I haven't minded Dupuis so far, decent combination of skills.

I'm sort of unimpressed so far with him... Just plain "blah."

My expectations were less than that, so far so good as a 4th liner 13th forward.

I guess... He hasn't done anything special in my mind though. At the same time, I haven't seen anything bone-head-ish so...
