Where are they now?

Mac with his 7th tonight giving him 19 pts on the season. Grabbo with the same goals and assist numbers (7G, 12A).

It's looking like Bozak/Clarkson was a bad idea over Mac/Grabbo from a purely pts/$ standpoint.

Don't get me wrong, I like what Clarkson brings to the team, but from a Cap/performance standpoint it's not even close. Ouch.

Well, Bozak's $ would have to be adjusted to account for the IR time, no? But for that, he's had a pretty good season -- even getting first assists and all. And, if that play were consistent, at the price, Bozak's not so bad. Alas, we can't know if that play would be consistent.

But yeah, Grabo's well on his way to the 60 point season many here predicted.

Woah, didn't realize he had such a great season over in Europe.

Rather than start a thread for each player, Mason Raymond had a hat-trick last night for the Flames.  Also, Joe Colborne had 3 assists and has 4 assists in 2 games to start the season (or in other words, 6 points off the combined production of Orr/McLaren/McClement from a season ago).

I watched the game and Raymond looks like he is on a mission to bring the Flames back to respectability all by himself. With some help from Colborn.

Two more assists for Colborne last night, he has 8 on the season already.

I am keeping an eye on him only because Brady and Walker (FAN 590) have some stupid bet going about how Joe would score 20 this year. No goals, at this early stage, leads the Flames in points. Good start, I hope he keeps it up.

I was extremely excited for the future of Colborne here in Toronto, and it seems to have been wasted.

Says a lot of the Leafs talent evaluation at the time. For Ashton/Orr/McLaren to "beat out" Colborne for a spot (Ashton supposedly on merit of training camp, and Orr/McLaren because of the coach),  is extrememely disappointing.  None of those 3 players have played a game in the NHL this year.

I sure hope the media one day calls him out on it.

I might wait a while before I got too excited about what's going on in Calgary. Their forward lines are a mess these days and Colborne is getting top 6 minutes and significant time on the second unit PP, opportunities he wouldn't have had in Toronto.

Comparing what he's doing in that situation to what opportunities he might have had here isn't really fair and doesn't really say much about the team's "talent evaluation" in hindsight.

Colborne's doing well considering he's only averaging 13:42 at ES so far this season, and 7 of his 8 points have come at ES.  Being used on the PK as well.  From what I can tell from Flames forums he's been slotted in on the "1st line" (Monahan's line) twice so far this season on the wing, but otherwise has been playing C on the 3rd line the other 7 games (most common 5v5 linemates so far are Raymond & Gadreau).

He certainly seems capable of being an NHL regular (wouldn't look out of place on the wing with Kadri/Lupul IMO), glad he's seeing some success.

Just read that Kevin Hayes is starting to reach his potential, another big Centre whom might have been useful around now or going forward. I wonder when we send Gautier packing.

Ummm the Leafs never had the rights to Kevin Hayes.
