Where are they now?

I've had the (mis?)pleasure of seeing one ex Leaf in action recently.

Mark Bell is plying his trade for Eisbaren Berlin of the German DEL for a second season. This season so far he has been mostly centring the 3rd line but also missed time injured. Having won a load of titles in recent years Berlin have become a fairly mediocre team during the last 2 years.

so...bolland 0 points in 4 games and a lower body injury?

So glad they didn't do that deal!

They didn't have a choice. Too much money to pay a third line center. It was obvious then, it's obvious now.

Nik Antropov is still playing...in the KHL:

Colborne's having a decent year offensively - 20 points in 33 games, roughly a 50 point pace.  Playing both PP and a bit of PK.  His possession stats don't look very good, but that could also be because Calgary as a whole is bottom 3 in the league in those #'s.

Still a head scratcher in my opinion. Ultimately, we then shortly after give up assets to acquire Holland...because we needed a centre...with skill...and size.  Hmmm.

Mimico is not Toronto, simply an abberation from Hamilton that ended up in our west end. LOL

I'm no geography expert but I'm pretty sure Mimico wasn't an aberration from Hamilton seeing as how Mississauga, Oakville, and Burlington separate the two.

Also I'm pretty sure Mimico is considered a part of Toronto. It's definitely significantly closer to TO than Caledon is.

Mimico pretty much borders the limits of the old city of Toronto (when it was Metro). Maybe he's talking about how Mimico is scuzzy like Hamilton? In that case it's pretty accurate.

I'm pretty sure Clarkson is from Etobicoke. He went to ECI for high-school and lived in the area IIRC.

Mimico is a suburb of Etobicoke, no?

It's part of Etobicoke, yeah . . . and, it's really not that scuzzy, either. A good friend of mine lived there for a while. It's not the most upscale part of the city, but it's not exactly Rexdale, either. It's pretty a pretty normal, middle class part of town for the most part.

Hamilton has come quite a ways in the past 5 years, and is one of the hottest real estate markets in Canada right now.  It's not the Hamilton of old.

It used to be a steel town, and that industry isn't around much anymore.  Hamilton is now one of the leading medical research cities in Canada, and that industry is fueling a whole new demographic for the city.

I work there. It's pretty scuzzy.

It's a hot real estate market because it's cheap, and it's cheap because it's scuzzy, and it's not close to anything and has limited transportation options. If you had the option to live in Hamilton or Burlington, you'd probably choose Burlington.
