Who will be the new coach of the Leafs

The answer is:  Sheldon Keefe.

If they complete the comeback.
I was completely premature on starting this thread, but frustration took over, especially with the way they were playing and I am a huge Woll fan over Sammy. I hope we can pull of the comeback as I am a Keefe fan for the most part.

Was wondering about the chances of them getting someone like Jon Cooper, but imagine the LOLs in the media if he got the job given his first round exits this year and last.

He reportedly recently signed an extension with Tampa, so...

That's fine, we're after Rod the Bod anyway.

I'd amour Rod for sure. Keefe comes across well in interviews but the proof is in the eating. Even if the Leafs get to and are eliminated in round 2 I'd make the change because I just don't see him doing it with this group in future and a different voice would be beneficial.

I don?t know if a comeback in this round is enough. I think they need to go on a real run for that to happen. At the very least, they need to get past Florida, and that?s a tall order.

Would you take Coop or Rod?

Rod. Get the Leafs playing Carolina level defence with their offensive talent? That?s how you win championships.

I would love Cooper, I think he's the sharpest coach in the league.

I'd take either...but I think I'd prefer Coop just for the rings street cred.

I'm with WIGWAL...Coop could manage the press, and I'm not sure the the Bod would be as savvy.

But I might say, sure as shit Rod could strike fear in that core.

Don't believe we need to blow up the whole team and go crazy. Been saying to my son all year that our window will open next year when we have basically a drastically changed D.  At least two tall trees will be out there and maybe Topi is ready.  Woll when healthy and Hildeby will with Jones as insurance will be an upgrade in goal.
Add Minten and Cowan, keep Domi and Bert. If we change coaches at least get a better one. I like Keefe but he just hasn't had the win.

Perhaps John Herdman will become available.

If he is made available -Brind'amour, no matter what the cost

Why would he come to Toronto? Why would Carolina let him go?
The owner has a set salary in mind and that's all he'll pay. Leafs have deep pockets and he could probably get paid 3x what he makes there....who knows

Ahhh I see his contract expires this year.  I wasn't aware of that.

Brind'amour if he shakes loose. Boudreau if he doesn't.

Hard no on Boudreau.  Have you seen his playoff record?

I was big on the Boudreau train a couple of years ago. I don't think that's the voice the 2024 team needs though. The fan in me would still love to see him come in as an assistant, but that's admittedly pretty pipe-dreamy.

There is a similar amount of 'smoke' around Berube right now as there was around Treliving last off season. He's got at least one post-season success story (better than the incumbent) but otherwise a bit meh.

Friedman said to keep an eye on today as a trigger day if anything were to happen because yesterday was the draft lottery and Keefe was being f?ted by the Brampton Hall of Fame.
