No shock there.sickbeast said:Mirtle is reporting that 90% of the players were happy to see Babcock go. Seeing Babcock only thank Morgan Reilly is pretty telling.

I'm not gonna lie, I dislike Commodore but I still laughed. He's psychotic.Bullfrog said:As a surprise to no one, Mike Commodore went on quite the twitter rant today. He's such a POS.

I don't want to knock Babcock at all, he came when we needed him, had to get the deal he did or he would not have come, and left at the right time. If he had left earlier they would have been a lot of 2nd guessing about why we made the change, if he didn't start this season. I think all would agree, is not crystal clear that this happened at exactly the right time.Strangelove said:Guilt Trip said:For sure. Babcock was seemingly in the heads of 90% of the current team.
From everything we've heard, he seems like a stubborn prick who was probably a nightmare to play for, particularly given that he absolutely refused to learn from (or admit to) his mistakes or make even obvious improvements.
Apparently Zetterberg, Chelios and Datsyuk weren't fans. We all know Matthews wasn't.Strangelove said:Guilt Trip said:For sure. When this is all done, what kind of team do you expect to have?
Keefe: What I would like the team to look like: When we have the puck, we are going to capitalize and take advantage of it. We want to utilize the skill that we have. The team was built in a manner that it [can] capitalize when it has the puck. We want to make sure we put a structure in place where the players can learn that and give them the confidence and freedom to be able to utilize their skills.
Also, we recognize, of course, that when we don?t have the puck, we?re going to be looking to get it back in a very structured and competitive manner that is going to have a lot of pressure and force turnovers and give us a chance to transition and utilize the skills we are talking about.
Really, all of that will have to be on a foundation of competitiveness, work ethic, discipline and structure. If we don?t have those things in place, everything else is going to kind of fall apart at the seams. We?ll work on the foundation and continue to build on it. I think a lot of those things are in place.
