2011 NFL thread

It would be a good fit.  And an improvement on Mark Sanchez.  Trade a crappy QB for a decent FB who can play the option every once and a while.

Well, as always, the issue with Tebow will be if he accepts that sort of role. If he wants to be that option QB I say giddy-up. The Jets missed the heck out of Brad Smith doing that.

Roger Goodell. Man, what a hard ass.

Sean Payton suspended one year. Mickey Loomis 8 game and $500,000 fine. Saints fined $500,000 and a second round pick in 2012 and 2012.

... and for you, Nik...  :)

Denver traded quarterback Tim Tebow to the NY Jets.

Fair enough. I mean, heck, if Tebow can get the Jets to the Superbowl I'll gladly believe in Jeebus.

C'mon somebody had to be willing to offer a roster player for Tebow. A 4th round pick looks like you took the 1st offer that hit your inbox. Should make things interesting for Sanchez though.

A 4th and a 6th I think... Anyway, I'm still in shock over this massive overkill by Goodell. Honestly, I'm floored.

Edit: Make that Tebow + a 7th for a 4th + 6th.

I'm pretty sure the Broncos took the best offer out there. The idea that Tebow was a highly sought player probably just isn't true.

The Jets were winners with Joe Namath... Maybe they'll have some luck with Jesus of Nazareth.

And that is supposed to be funny I guess?

On a site that requires tolerance for alternative lifestyles etc. it would also be nice to see a people showing some respect towards the name of God and respect for Christians.

Please let me know when I'm either being disrespectful or breaking a site rule... Until then, have a wonderful day.

Tim Tebow is not Jesus of Nazareth. Now you know.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Seriously. I hate to join in here but there's really no call here to compare Tim Tebow to one of the most celebrated and worshiped figures in Western society. Tim Tebow is a good athlete and all but there are some figures so sacred and important to people that they're no laughing matter and really should only be spoken of in hushed tones of reverence.

I mean, it's Joe Willie Namath for goodness' sake.

Back to the Saints... As tremendous of a punishment this is to the Saints, the shoe still hasn't dropped on their players. Apparently, Goodell has gone to the player's union for their recommendation and once he has it, he'll chew on it and then drop the hammer on them too.

I have to be honest, I'm really growing to dislike Goodell. From constantly pushing for the 18 game season to the penalties to Washington and Dallas for doing something that wasn't against the rules to this he comes off as a real autocratic jackass.

Absolutely!

And the terrifying thing about that? I might have to rank Bettman as my favourite of the 4 sports' commissioners. Admittedly that says more about the other three than him but it's true.

Well, Bettman or the other guys never effectively extorted 7 mil. from a head coach so yeah, I'm on board.

I miss Paul Tagliabue, at least I miss saying Paul Tagliabue.

What happened with Washington and Dallas?
