so will the postponed game start from the beginning?  or from where they were at.  it was 1-0 for columbus wasn't it?
All NHL.com has on this atm is this, "The game has officially been postponed. A decision about the remainder of the game will be made at a later date by the NHL."

I would imagine they would carry forward with the 1-0 lead.  What will be interesting is when they play them game if Peverley can't play, does Dallas have to dress the same roster they started with?

When this happened to Jiri Fischer all those years ago the Preds had a 1-0 lead in the 1st period. The rescheduled game was a full 60-minutes but Nashville started the game with the lead they had. So I'd imagine the same thing will happen here.

After being up 3-0 after two periods, the Canucks gave up 7 goals in the 3rd. To the Islanders. Lack was in net for 6 of them.

How's that goaltending situation going, Gillis?

He really has messed that whole thing up.  Had he just swallowed his pride and gone with the Leafs deal he'd have Schneider and Scrivens as his goalies right now.

So basically the only asset (worth something) they got for both Luongo and Schneider was a 9th overall from NJ? Not to mention they pay 15% of Luongos salary. I am gathering that being a GM in this league is basically knowing the right people and you get to play with millions of dollars.

Last night was a circus showcase of the worst GMs' in the league with Snow and Gillis.

Well he got Markstrom too, who knows if he'll turn into a goalie like he was originally projected to be.  He's not there right now.

And Matthias still has an outside shot of developing into something.  Although at 26, the likelihood is rather low.

Matthias may have a higher production season or two in him, but, at this point, he's been in the league long enough to make it fair to say that, in the long run, he is what he's already shown himself to be - a 3rd liner.

mc79hockey: Entering last night, teams with a 3 goal leading going into the third were 979-6-32 in regulation since Lockout II.

Matthias seemed to have had a breakthrough last year with 14 goals in the shortened season.

Not sure what happened this year. There's still some potential there.

Or, that could have just been one of the few seasons of  elevated production he'll have. He didn't really produce in the AHL in his time there, nor did he produce exceptional numbers in junior (he produced well in his final 2 seasons, but so do a lot of guys who only become 3rd liners in the NHL). At his age, there's really not much potential left. He could be a late bloomer, but, the odds are against that. He may be a guy who gets the occasion 20 goal season, but, that's about it.

In general, I admire the job that Snow has been doing.  I, along with many others, thought it was hilarious that the Islanders hired their back-up goalie as their GM.  However, I think he has been doing ok.  He came in to the job with perhaps the most difficult circumstances of any GM in the league.  In terms of talent, the Isles were in a massive hole and had various negative assets on the books (Yashin, DiPietro).  He can't rectify that by going out and signing free agents because the Isle has such a bad reputation and he is working under such a small budget.  Despite these obstacles, he has slowly, patiently acquired some young talent and made some deft trades for under-valued players.  Clearly, the Moulson-Vanek trade worked out poorly, but I think Nik put it well:  It is the kind of risk that he has to take from time to time because he operates in a market that doesn't have the kind of appeal or resources that the Leafs do.  I certainly would not call him the worst GM in the league.  He's miles better than certain past Isles GMs.

saying snow is miles ahead of milbury still leaves him quite a few miles behind...
