2014-2015 Minor Trades and Signings Thread

I just want this guy to have a shot in the NHL.  Would suck for him to have the year he did in the AHL and not get an NHL opportunity.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie  3m
PIT signs Blake Comeau to 1 year @ $700K and Thomas Greiss, one year at $1M.

Two nice under-the-radar signings. Greiss is one of the better back-ups in the league, and could steal some games from Fleury when he collapses.

Real_ESPNLeBrun: Fiddler re-signs with Dallas, two years, $2.5 M total; $1 M next season and $1.5 M in 2015-16

That would have been a nice pick up for the Leafs. Oh well.

Didn't they inquire about him last season? Maybe they called?

Could mean they are closing in on the other one on your list.

Carolina signs Zach Boychuk

Chip Alexander ‏@ice_chip

Boychuk has one-year, two-way deal, $600,000 on NHL level, $200,000 AHL and $275,000 guarantee.

Wonder if that affects what Franson will get?

Probably a decent comparable, but Franson would probably get a bit more for the power play stats. I haven't seen the AAV on Petry's deal yet.

EDIT: $3,075,000

DarrenDreger: $1mil for 1 yr. Heatley signs with Ducks.

If his skating gets back to a decent level, that's probably a good value signing. If not . . . who knows?

1 year, 1.55 million Brenden Morrow signs with the Lightning

I really think Tampa is putting together a good group. Morrow's almost certainly done as an impact player but a good 4th liner veteran type.

I think they might steal the top spot in the Atlantic away from Boston this season. Especially if Drouin can have a MacKinnon-like rookie season, which probably isn't really out of the question. Their defence might be best in the conference, although looking through some of the projected top-6's that isn't really saying much. It's pretty much them and Boston and then a big gap before 3rd.
