I'm no Sedin fan but he did win the Art Ross that year and a lot of times that winner also gets the Hart. He had a crazy 83 assists
He had 3 more points than Crosby who scored 22 goals more than Sedin.
Meanwhile Sedin was playing with his brother while Crosby was playing with the ugliest collection of wingers ever assembled(Pittsburgh's highest scoring winger was 38 year old Bill Guerin who had 45 points). In addition Sedin was below 50% on faceoffs while Crosby was one of the better faceoff men in the league.
Ovechkin, on the other hand, tied with Crosby for points, scored 50 goals, while playing 10 fewer games than Sedin.
Nobody alive would have taken Sedin over either of those two that year.
