To translate it into hockey terms: imagine Tampa with last year?s regular season went ahead and added McDavid during the offseason. That?s what Golden State did, except golden state was a little better than tampa was and adding a top-3 player like durant in the nba has significantly more impact than adding McDavid to an nhl team.
So while it is never cool to wish an injury on an opponent, GS still has 3 all-nba players in Curry, Thompson and Green and I dont feel all that bad for their luck.
Oh I get it, they're like a dream team, I'm just saying it's lucky he's not playing cause they looked near unstoppable the little he was out there last night.
Obviously the Warriors are better with one of the best players on the planet than without but with that said watching one quarter deep in a series where a major difference is introduced will probably exaggerate the importance of that difference. If Durant had been in the series from the beginning the Raptors could have made adjustments and thrown different looks his way. He'd still have a big impact but maybe not completely swinging the series.
