Justice Maria Carroccia dismissed the jury this morning without giving them an explanation for the mistrial.
A new jury will be selected today.
Publication ban means we won’t know the reason, but picking a whole new set of jury members probably means they did something (e.g. shared info) or had the process tainted with bias in some way.A new 14-person jury made up of nine women and five men has been selected in the sexual assault trial of five former members of Canada’s 2018 world junior hockey team. The trial continues on Monday.
