2020-2021 NHL Thread

Also the Pegulas are cheap
I met a guy in Arizona who was one of Terry's best friends and he said that any time Terry wanted more money he would just open some new fracking wells.  When natural gas turned dirt cheap, all the players lost a lot of money including the Pegula' who no longer mint money on "natural gas",  I really don't think fracking is the best policy either.  I know that Pegula had to cap a lot of his wells.

Only posting this because I let out a chuckle after "Glaring need at RHD with Carrick a UFA". Carrick played 11 games with the Devils this season. Love having a higher base knowledge of other random NHL teams than the "reporter covering the Sabres/NHL for @TheBuffaloNews".

That's insane.

They used exactly 8 D... so everyone played through it?

Or there were guys who suffered multiple concussions without coming out of the lineup for an extended period - which is much more dangerous. Unless he's talking about over the course of the entire season and the playoffs.

Safe to assume that would be throughout the year. 8 concussions during a 3.5 week period would be a whole other story.

During the regular season they used 13 different defencemen.

Maybe don?t say this until those ?prospects? are gone

It's a little refreshing to see hockey people admit to some faults here but it's not as if they hired someone completely outside of their organization who had no familiarity with their scouting personnel/system. Sweeney was in Boston's organization for almost 10 years at that point and was the teams assistant general manager for 6 years prior to being promoted.

Honestly it remains my 4th favourite hockey draft moment in my lifetime, just watching those three names come up in succession.

Jonathan Toews released a video saying he's feeling better and is looking forward to playing again next year.

He was out for the year with a made up disease.

Chronic Immune Response Syndrome - after some brief browsing, it sounds a lot like a name they've given to situations where something clearly wrong with someone, but they can't pinpoint exactly what it is.

To be clear I was being quite glib.  I have no doubt that Toews was unwell and struggled with his health and mental wellbeing over the last year.

Chronic Immune Response Syndrome is a load of nonsense.  The symptomatology is absolutely something that can be legitimate but the CIRS concept is pure pseudoscience garbage.
