Marlies Assistant Coach, and former Growlers Head Coach

All the best to him and his family.

I wonder if Danielle Goyette gets a temporary spin at assistant coaching, as she did covering for the Growlers when Wellwood went into Covid protocol.

Blah, hope he's ok.

Bit of an interesting note on the Marlies goalie situation there. Hardy makes it clear that despite Jones' NHL play he won't exactly just be treated like the Marlies' starting goalie and that the "primary focus" is on developing Hildeby and Petruzzelli. Which is probably best for everyone involved.

I don't think this situation will be quite like Simmonds last year where he didn't play in any AHL games at all, but I wouldn't be shocked if Jones stayed in Toronto full-time and didn't participate in any road trips to avoid the full AHL experience.

Where's Peksa playing this year?

Newfoundland/ECHL. Leafs are kind of in a tough spot with him. In a perfect world he'd be playing in either the AHL or KHL, but there just isn't spots for him there.

I was gonna say I don't think it makes sense for him to stay in the VHL. Definitely needs more reps. Wonder if we move on from Petruzzelli.

Robertson had another good game. 2G, 3 pts that gives him 5pts, 11 shots in 2 games so far which is exactly what we want to see. McMann had 2 goals, 3 pts yesterday. Holmberg had 1G, 1A today. Tverberg got his first pro G and A today. Jones looked solid.

Hopefully he can get a good 30-40 games of solid play and force himself onto the roster.  I think I'd rather see McMann or Holmberg called up before Robertson just to give him an extended period of time to focus on development instead of fitting into a reduced role in the NHL

I don't think Robertson will be there for 30 or 40. I think he might be the 2nd call up after Holmberg who might replace Minten if/when he goes back. If he keeps this pace up, that will force them. I watched today's game and they were saying he could have had a lot more then 2 apples game 1. They said he was dominant. He looked very good today. No hesitation shooting or passing. Hope for the best for him and if he can stay healthy and put it together, bonus for the Leafs.

Boo hiss

He did return to the bench later

It's just AHL production and he's not a prospect (2011 draft) but what did the Marlies feed Logan Shaw.

163 points in 319GP prior to joining the Marlies last year (.511 PPG)
85 points in 80GP with the Marlies (1.06 PPG)

Good linemates? A system he is effective in?

Tverberg had been helping drive the Marlies' top line (Shaw-Abruzzese-Tverberg).
I can't believe their nicknames are Bruiser and Berger. This is the worst.

After 5 points in his first two games Robertson has 1G 0A and is a -2 in his next three games.  I'd still like to see him spend the majority of the year in the AHL and work on development.  He'll likely get games this year in the NHL but I'd like him to play a sustained role for a while.

I wouldn't bother Robertson with call ups unless we lose 2+ top-6 Leaf wingers  for a stretch. Let him learn to dominate a pro league. Alex Barre-Boulet is probably a similar example: small and skilled but sort of locked out of the big club due to the star power still radiating there. He's starting to catch on a bit now at 26 years old and that's without the injury history.

Not a good look there of him getting off the ice, hope it is not an ACL
