They really need a defenseman good enough to push one of Timmins/Benoit/Myers out of the lineup. I don't see how they can go anywhere in the playoffs with 2 of them in the lineup every night.

After that, a forward who can push Holmberg out of the top six would be nice. I think one could be more creative with the forward lines even if there are no changes to the forward group, but Berube hasn't shown much interest in that.

A top 4 RD would be ideal for the Leafs. A 3C would move Domi up to 2LW and Holmberg down to the 4th line.
 
If this team can perform decently in the playoffs, they're in a decent cap position next year. They have a lot of salaries locked in for next season.
