That's pretty crazy, haven't really seen that discussed before. 12 goals against there is most in the league, 5th highest on a per/60 scale. Last season they only gave up 9 goals all season with the other teams goalie pulled and that was of course with worse goaltending and no Tanev.2) Defending a lead late in 6 on 5 situations. The Leafs have given up a whopping 12 goals defending leads. Fortunately for the most part they have been situations where the team is leading by more than 1 goal and they hold on to win games but it definitely is an area where they need to improve
Just comparing that to some other teams Dallas, New Jersey, Winnipeg, Montreal, Tampa, and Carolina have all only allowed 2 goals against an empty net situation. Most of those teams have played almost 20 minutes less than the Leafs have in that situation but Dallas actually leads the league in TOI there at 60 minutes (Leafs are 2nd at 59 minutes). Pretty remarkable for the Stars.
