I would sign them both... nothing in the hopper. Hope he mature into something close to a few years ago. No plan B.

Vlad has basically turned into a .700 OPS, 25HR first baseman with horrible range, below average defense and well below average baserunning skills. Oh, and he costs $20M per year. That is literally a player who is DFA'd. So no, you absolutely do not sign him, particularly with the insane amount of money that would cost, until he starts producing anywhere near his 2021 level. There are a handful of Blue Jay AAA and waiver-wire guys who could out-WAR Vladdy right now...

Never seen a game be actually played in conditions like currently in Kansas. Looks grim.

Agreed. Bo's having a rough start to the year, but he's been very consistent - OPS+ in spitting distance of +125 every year he's been a full time MLB player. Vladdy is much more up and down. If he can get back to near his form from 21 and 22, you lock him up. If not, you either look short-term or for a trade.

I kind of see probably Springer as the kind of ?captain? but definitely feel like Bo is or could definitely be evolving into that role.

Honestly...they just don't have answers for what gets presented to them...they're like a computer simulation team that just sucks.  They don't throw anybody off.  They're a baseball team that shows up and plays baseball as required by the schedule, and then just doesn't play baseball well. 

It's boring.
