Last two starts have been very encouraging. Hopefully, he can maintain some momentum.

Its too bad that Manoah isn't a position player.  The rotation has, for the most part, not been the problem this year.  It's great to see Manoah regain his form though.  What a massive drop off it was last year.

Nice offensive output today from the offense.  The home run power is still a big concern but they did get a couple today against a good pitcher.

Next game, right back the same anemic offence.  2 hits.

They probably need to do something sooner or later.  I'm leaning more toward a tear down at this point but you can probably try it out at least one more year.  I'm not sure that either Bo or Vlad are good enough to build around even when they are playing well but the makeup of the roster needs to change

Garcia and Kikuchi should be good assets at the deadline to jump start things.  You still have the rotation mostly locked up for the next two years and this offseason the free agency class is solid.

I don't know much about the Jays prospect pipeline but this team has been nowhere close to anything for years. My friend called them Leafs of the turf, and I wonder if that's being generous.

For all the hype they came with, Shapiro and Atkins sure have been underwhelming almost a decade into their tenure here when it comes to them supposedly building a sustainable winner.

Not that it should mean much, but I?m glad to see the HR jacket back. The game is meant to be fun. If a bit of enjoyment gets them back playing loose and enjoying themselves hopefully it?ll translate to performance and results.

Totally agree, why did they part with it in the first place?  A fan favorite

Well, I think the lack of attention to detail and having a grand time while losing was getting old so they got rid of it but I think they now realize they suck and they might as well have fun while sucking.

They won 91 and 92 games and the offense was 3rd and 4th in runs scored the years they had the HR jacket.

When the got rid of it last year is when the offense fell off.

Indeed. They were mashing home runs left, right and centre annd churning out the runs and as you say putting up 90+ wins with the old tougher schedule. Vlad was an MVP candidate.

They got rid of it cos they were going to be a more mature grown up team. Then promptly produced a dismal offensive season and fewer wins against the more balanced schedule. Barely a single offensive player is playing up to their average.

Then you have the coaching staff pulling pitchers at inopportune times based purely on data instead of reading the game.

Let them have fun and play.

I think more likely that the old men of baseball decreed that it wasn't the way we do things under the guise of "growing up". Still plenty of people who think anyone who bat flips should get popped.

It was part of a "the team needs to get serious"....as literally every other team is doing home run items/skits.  Guys like Jomboy who have a noted dislike of the Jays would criticize it.

I just got back from the jays game - you know I don?t care that they aren?t a good team, what makes this depressing is how boooooooooring they are.

I can always find something fun to follow even on a bad jays team, somebody having a good season, chasing a record, whatever, but this team is just a pack of mediocre players have sub mediocre seasons.
