2024 Blue Jays

We can pencil in O Martinez next year. Bring back Danny

With the PED issues, it?s hard to say for sure what the Jays even have in Martinez. Can?t pencil him in anywhere.

Nothing in the system, didn't win a playoff game, haven't resigned Bo or Vlad, need 3 bats and a whole bullpen... It's hard to give Shatkins any credit for what they have done in Toronto.

I don?t know if anyone listened to the press conferences, but my god Rosie DiManno, classy as always.

I just read up on it.

Basic gist seems to be, they?ll just keep doing what they?re doing, and there?ll maybe be some internal improvements. And magically they?ll improve.

It was very uninspiring.

Jays non-tender Romano:

This management team just keeps hoofing fans in the balls.

Nah. I actually kinda get this one. He’ll get a significant contract in arbitration and who knows how he’ll perform after missing most of last season with issues in the throwing arm.

Being non-tendered doesn’t mean he won’t be back, either.

I get all that, but the salary projections don't seem bananas...but what I was getting at is that he's a really popular player with the fans, as well as a local boy.

I get that. It would not shock me if they bring him back at a lower salary than the arbitration projections.

But, honestly, if I were GM, I probably would have non-tendered him in this situation, too.

Are we going for back to back seasons of battling the big boys for the top players? While Soto would be great, let's be careful not to focus all our attention on him and forgetting there's a bunch of other holes to plug in this lineup.

I suppose you have to go for Soto.

But I actually think they’d be better off just going for all the other holes that need filled.

Would love to see Teoscar back actually.

They’d be stupid not to make an offer, but I don’t believe for a second that Soto would sign with the jays.

And while I would be happy with the jays signing Teoscar, it just proves what a monumentally stupid trade that was.

The first year of the trade worked out well for the Jays. Swanson was good and Teoscar had a down year.

Last offseason Teo was a free agent. For the money the Jays paid to sign Kevin Kiermaier and and Justin Turner, they could have had Teoscar. Jays could have had their cake and eat it too. To me, that was the mistake.

I don't know if Teo would have even chosen to sign here when the Dodgers were interested.

I don’t think it worked out the first year as Teoscar’s contributions would have been much greater than swanson’s.

And in “intangible” land, I believe Teoscar and Vladdy are very good friends, so if you could land Teoscar it may help with convincing Vlad to sign lng term, if that’s what’s wanted.

Looks like the Jays are doing nothing again. I would love to see Teoscar back, guy has a smile that lights up the world. Hope they can negotiate with Romano on a come back deal. Also hope that Manoah can come back into form when he returns.
I am not a Bo fan either, doesn't seem like the long term shortstop of the future and he is going to command some heavy scratch I would rather dedicate to Vladdy.

Most of the league has done little to nothing. Everyone is waiting on the Soto sweeps to be settled.
