I know it makes no sense but I'm wary of this cause our last Gustavsson goalie didn't work out so well.

Didn't work out so well for any other Leafs goalie not named Gustavsson in the last 20 or so years ....

Doubt the Bruins would trade Ullmark to the Leafs.

I don't know him very well but from what I've seen Gustavsson seems interesting. He just won't come as cheap in terms of talent cost as the UFA backups.

Perhaps we can spin off some Keefe-favourites and change for John Marino.
 
I think Marino would be a decent fall back option. Ultimately I like RHD like Roy and Tanev more. They'll certainly come in at a higher AAV but also don't have any acquisition cost. But Marino doesn't really have that oomf or reach that the new regime is likely seeking right now, so I'm not sure he'll be high on their target list.

How is that not tampering? If this was Toronto they would have for sure lost a draft pick if this turns out to be true.

Depends on which side it?s coming from. If Pesce is telling people he intends to sign with Jersey, there?s nothing wrong there

Yes but this blurb gives terms, which implies the 2 sides have spoken. That?s hampering. I know this could all be billshit, and I know there?s tampering all the time in the nhl, it just annoys me that had this been a leafs story, there would have been some kind of fine or consequence.

Those ?terms? are a projection from EvolvingHockey that were released a while back. They do it for every prospective free agent and there?s no team attached to them. It?s purely based on stats and comparables, not insight into negotiations.
