Game 56 - Montreal @ Leafs- Feb 11th, 2012 - 7:00 PM EST - CBC

I heard Phaneuf needed the night off.. so they just draped his jersey over a pylon and throw it out on the ice every once in a while. Was wondering why they didn't go back to Gus at the beginning of the game.. hopefully he comes in now.

They need to turn in a good 3rd even though this one is out of hand.  Otherwise this has been a complete embarassment on what should have been a really special night.

Yeah, I mostly feel bad for Mats.

I tivo the games and often check the score (or get someone to check it for me to tell me if they win or lose) before watching because I can't take losing.

So, did the leafs and/or Reimer play really bad or did they just get unlucky?  Leafs are outshooting them. Who is outchancing who?

Reimer hasn't tracked the puck all that well but made a few reasonable saves.  Two of the goals were really bad.  Eller walked around Phaneuf far too easily and then made a great move to score the 4th goal.

The Leafs have more shots, but they are mostly perimeter shots with no screen on Price.

Well, the 3rd is still to be played, but basically Montreal has 10 less shots and by far looks like the more dominant team.

In short, this is just a stinker.

Reimer was good in the first, but gave up at least 2 weak ones in the 2nd.  Giveaways galore.  Phaneuf let Eller walk around him for a pretty goal.  The whole team had an awful period.

What a demoralizing game....Of all the games this year we wanted to win, this would be at the top of my list.

Jesus what a terrible overall showing.

Hope gus makes RW look foolish and stones em the rest of the way.

Lets see us at least break the fricking gooseegg

And thanks again for holding fast to your no-trade clause and retiring as a member of the Cunucks.

Just kidding, I guess. We've never been the same since he and Quinn left.

5-0 as Montreal gets a breakaway.  How do you give up a breakaway when you can't even get puck control in the offensive zone?  I get that the Leafs need to play aggressive, but there was absolutely nothing to be pinching on there by the defense.
