Is it possible they're just not liking Carlyle and basically refusing to respond to his tactics?

They're probably struggling to implement what he wants to do, which is being compounded by shaky goaltending/low confidence/playoff elimination.  It's bad regardless, but hard to pinpoint really what it is right now.

They have little skill and less heart.  Simple.

They're beat, done. I honestly think they have tons of skill but you may be right about some of the heart, especially right now.

I very much want a high draft pick, but how they have mailed this in is disgraceful.  It makes me wonder whether any part of the current group can be part of a successful solution.  I doubt it.

I can understand why you doubt it but I think there are significant parts of the team that will be fine going forward.

As a group they really do just seem defeated right now, it's kind of sad but I'll take a decent draft pick and hope there's a 'development machine' a la Stewie somewhere down at the ACC.

I do hope you're right, and they are young.  I just think that this has been such a mess that I can't see how these players will be able to lead the way out of this.  Maybe this is the beginning of three or four years of basement or near basement finishes.  In other words, a true rebuild.

The way these last few years have gone, I'm fully expecting Burke to get levied with tampering charges and we will lose our pick.

or go off the board and draft an Araujo.

Dear morons at the ACC,

Stop buying Leafs tickets, start buying Jays tickets. Otherwise you're just a bunch of whiny lady dogs.

Sincerely,

Nik

A reasonable sentiment, but it's also well worth noting that the vast majority of the tickets for last night's game were purchased some time last year, when the team was actually not a complete disaster.
