GDT - 8 game road trip - Oct. 26th 7:30 @ Hamilton

Marlies came back from being down 4-2 after 2 to win 6-4.  Scrivens didn't look very good through 2, but the team bailed him out.  Couple goals for Ashton, and one for Komarov as well.

While Scrivens hasn't been great so far, I think the team as a whole has been pretty poor. Eakins blaming Scrivens is pretty easy and transparent IMO.

Poor team chemistry/system is as much to blame in my eyes. A terrible PP has lost them a couple games, as well as a somewhat anemic offense.

At some point when Owuya takes over and if those problems keep up, the blame will fall on Eakins, where it should be ATM.

What are we talking about blame for, basically this is a very different Marlies than last year, the roster last year was continually moving around, the dynamic saw players moving up and down from the Leafs and many of the Marlies picked up their game and stepped up and played extremely well including the goalies. There are many new players as well.
What are they 8 or 9 games in?  I think you will see them gel in the next 4 to 6 games and climb the standings and them we can stop playing the critical Toronto game that is so popular

Kadri and Colborne healthy scratches tonight.

Struggles certainly, but maybe it means your lines suck and maybe we shouldn't be benching our two legitimate prospects on the Marlies so that Acton's kid gets icetime.

Don't really agree with it as whenever I've watched Kadri has been our best forward, but the team won tonight without them. The powerplay went 2-for-4 which is probably the best in any game so far this season. Rynnas got his second shutout in 3 games this season which should mean he'll be getting more starts in the near future.

Rynnas posts a shutout and Komarov has 2 more goals in a 3-0 win over Texas.  2nd shutout in 3 games played for Rynnas.

Marlies' Jussi Rynnas posts shutout tonight in Texas; owns AHL best 0.98 GAA & .968 save % in 3GP; pushing Ben Scrivens for starting job

Certainly some interesting developments down there. Good to see Komarov adjusting and dominating. Jussi praised new goalie coach Rick St Croix and the fact that he urges him to challange the shooters a little bit more. Eakins inclined to play Owuya tonight.

Yes, its good to finally have some real competition between the pipes. Bodes well for the future. I don't think Luongo's the answer, to expensive and we will have to give up someone like Frattin to get him. Speaking of Frattin, he should add a whole new dimension to the Marlies when he is ready... He was starting to get into his stride.
I can see the team starting to gel now.

Kadri and Colborne rejoin the line-up tonight for the Marlies' game against the San Antonio Rampage (Florida's AHL team). Spencer Abbott has an undisclosed injury and will be out, which is a shame as his line with Aucoin and Komarov have been pretty impressive in the last couple of games. Hamilton, Holzer, and Yeo are also sitting this one out. Line-up combos are as follows:

Zigomanis ? Aucoin ? Komarov
Scott ? Colborne ? Ross
Ryan ? Kadri ? D?Amigo
Ashton ? Acton ? Deschamps

Gardiner ? Kostka
Fraser ? Blacker
Ranger ? Gysbers

Owuya

Kadri was certainly better tonight.  1 goal, 2 assists - and his goal broke the 3-3 tie in the 3rd.  Colborne also got his first of the year and I thought he looked really good in the game.

EDIT: Colborne also had a nice assist on Greg Scott's first of the season, and his goal was off a beautiful passing play Kadri to Gardiner to Colborne.

Here are the wonderful quality highlights: http://video.mapleleafs.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=446&id=189413&lang=en

Good on Dallas Eakins for recognizing that benching both players the other night would bring out this type of performance.

Marlies are playing Oklahoma right now (school-day game). They are up 1-0 early in the first. Check the atdhenet.tv game if you want to see the Marlies play Hall, Eberle, Schultz, and RNH.

edit: I was a little behind on my twitter updates. It's actually 4-0 Marlies after one period.

Eakins got kicked out of the game?

Sounds like it was a crazy one.

Wow, I was listening at work, but figured things were in hand after 2 periods and stopped.

Apparently this was over a Marlies disallowed goal in the 3rd? (where the replay showed it was in?)

edit: Also, Keith Aucoin took an abuse of official penalty after Gardiner scored the game winner?  What was that about?
