Huh... Totally forgot... Anyone remember we got a draft pick along with Lupul and Gardiner for Beauchemin? ! As it turns out, it's a 4th rounder in 2013. What a trade!

Yeah - wasn't that related to the number of games Lupul played - or was that the Lombardi deal I'm thinking of??

Both actually... Leafs give up a pick based on how many games he plays.

For the Lombardi deal, the Leafs either receive a pick or give up a pick, depending on how many games he plays. For the Lupul deal, the Leafs receive a pick, but what round it's in is conditional on how long he's on the roster next season.

I believe the condition on the Lupul deal has been me and we receive a 4th rounder in 2013.

THe condition on the Lupul deal is based on whether or not he's on the Leafs roster for 40 or more games next season, so, no, it has not been met.

Next season? I thought it was this season.

Definitely next season.

The conditional pick will be a fourth- or a sixth-round selection in the 2013 entry draft, according to Hockey Night in Canada contributor Pierre LeBrun. The difference will depend on Lupul's status during the 2012-13 season. If he spends 40 or more games on the Leafs' roster that year, it will be a fourth-round selection. Otherwise, it will be a sixth-rounder.

Whoa, whoa, whoa - we're 21-9-6 against teas outside of the Northeast?  Damn that is killing us.

I posted last week or so that if we just had a .500 record against both Boston and Ottawa we'd actually be leading the division.

Ah. Okay.

Yeah, those 2 teams are really doing a number on the Leafs' position in the standings.

25-12-6 against the rest of the league.
138 GF (3.21 per game), 113 GA (2.63 per game), +25

Most of goal differential damage is thanks to Boston, but, still, that's pretty crazy.

Sitting at a very nice +9 goal differential right now is very unfamiliar territory.  Scanning recent history we haven't been in the plus since pre lockout 2003-4 where we ended up +38.

We finished with 103 points that season coached by Quinn.  We knocked off the Sens in round 1 in 7 games then fell to the Flyers in 6 games in round 2.  The Lightning won the cup that year coached by Torts.

That year Eddie the Eagle was in goal, Kidd and Tellqvist split the back up duties for a total of 24 starts and our d consisted of:

McCabe
Kaberle
Pilar
Klee
Marchment
Berg
with a dash of Leetch right at the end.

I don't remember Leetch "dashing" that playoff year.

I thought Leetch was terrific in his short time here.

Fantastic, 15 points in 15 games and BC Buds he had 8 points in 13 games that playoff year.  I remember him clicking very well with McCabe.

Good day today.. Habs beat the Peg and Boston beat the Caps.. if we can get 4 points against very beatable teams Mon/Tues.. things will be looking pretty good!

I won an Ottawa radio station's first round hockey pool because Leetch got an assist on one of Joe N's goals in game seven.. I also picked Belfour (who had three shutouts) and another goalie who had 3 shutouts that round also (I forget who it was).. i came in first out of almost 3000 people.. thought i was going to get a bbq or something.. but I won a Sens jersey haha! ( I sold it to a friend for $80)

Geez, guess I was thinking of someone else.  Maybe Phil Housley?  Whoever it was had been a great player but was old and slow, and I think committed some egregious giveaway that sunk the Leafs that year.
