Frattin appears to be getting the call up.

Where are you getting that?

@mirtle

It was based upon him appearing on the ml.com Leafs roster. Since pointing that out, his name was removed from that roster.

I had just noticed this too. After you directed me to mirtle I looked at the roster and there he was. A few minutes ago I went to it again to show a colleague and it was gone.

So? Colbourne?

Or they will give Rosehill/Orr some more opportunities.

*cringes*

At some point Orr will get some games in.  That or they need to waive the guy if he's not in their plans.

I have my doubts because Lombardi probably wouldn't mind the duty at center. Adding a rookie/AHL winger is probably safer defensively (the bigger concern right now).

Colborne has certainly been hot enough. If they were going to tinker with giving him a look with Kessel and Lupul ... that might be interesting though I don't think his two way game is that close yet (in spite of his AHL +/-)

DarrenDreger: If it hasn't already been announced, expect Matt Frattin to be called up based on Connolly injury.

I'm not confident in Colborne's two-way play just yet...  ...but after last Saturday, you could say that about the entire team.

I think we would have been better off not signing the guy. FFS how can a guy be that injury prone and you watch him play he's very timid no pun intended so I really don't see how he gets hurt so much. Maybe that's the problem.

I'd rather let Colborne continue to be hot down in the AHL and put up big numbers than to come up here and possibly struggle.

Totally agree Potvin he has been dominating at times down there from what we're hearing. More time down there can only help boost his confidence which only bodes well when he does get the callup.

They should call up colborne to replace connolly, seriously how do you play that well without getting rewarded?

Mr. Glass breaks again. :P
I figured he had played too many games in a row.

He might as well be called Mr. Two Weeks -- he comes back and goes out again.  (Sigh) I'm already gettting tired of reading of yet more Connolly injuries.  :-\

Well we all knew this was going to happen one way or another. I still stand by my 60 game rule.

At this rate he just may hit 60 games......By the end of the contract.

Yeah, I don't think another more or two would hurt Colborne at this point.  Up until the trade last year he was a middling centre in the AHL.  He wasn't fast enough or strong enough to be a great checking forward and he certainly wasn't scoring enough to be a top 6 guy.  He's really only done this now for about 30 games in the AHL and taking another chunk of time, at least until we hit December and teams start looking to make roster changes so Burke can maybe make a 3-for-1 kind of trade that allows them to get a better player and open up a roster spot for Kadri/Colborne/Frattin.

Connolly said he was cross-checked early in Boston. Managed to tough it out.

So he managed to tough it out then but now he is out 10 - 14 days? He may just be the softest player I've ever heard of.
