Yeah, as someone who started getting into music in the early 90s, this one hurt.  Kurt, Layne and Chris all gone now.

Someone cover Eddie Vedder in bubble wrap, please...

Also, make sure he has a healthy an balanced diet, takes care of him self physically, gets plenty of rest, and has regular appointments with medical professionals.

This is definitely the most personal of the major musicians deaths in recent years, and one of the more unexpected.

He played a show last night and was tweeting after it, so very sudden and unexpected.

What an incredible voice.

This sucks.  Scott Weiland, now Chris Cornell...those were 2 of my favourite voices from that era.  Soundgarden and STP were among my favourite bands late in high school, and at Western...anyone from that time remembers beers at the Spoke listening to this stuff.

And later on, just like Scott Weiland with Velvet Revolver, I liked Chris Cornell with Audioslave stuff.

Not much new stuff that seems as good as they were in that genre, or am I missing something?

The coroner announced this afternoon it was a suicide by hanging.

This one really hurts. God, he was so talented. I could never believe how he could play some of those tough Soundgarden songs with the off-timing and sing so well at the same time. Going to have a few drinks tonight and play only Soundgarden, Audioslave and Cornell tunes. RIP.

That makes it tougher to get my head around. It's rare that you see how seemingly "normal*" someone is acting - playing a show, tweeting about how good it was - before then being in a place where they feel they need to take their own life.

*Normal is not the word I wanted to use, but I can't think of a better one, cos what is "normal"

22 killed and over 50 injured in a suicide bomb attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England last night.

I mean, I don't understand why you'd attack any kind of concert, but one that is primarily being attended by teenagers and probably mostly teenage girls is even harder to try and fathom.

Because all religion is a plague on this planet and should be abolished?
