Ok, the Oilers stink

Seriously. Like the Leafs played alright, but man they were terrible. I get that they're missing McDavid and all but they just had nothing going aside from their top line.

They're missing two 1st overall picks out of the lineup right now, but it's not like they don't have two more 1st overall picks in the lineup, plus another top 3 pick and a top 10 pick in the lineup.  Just fire them into....the Sun is too close...deep space nine?

Just imagine when they get Matthews next season?

AHhhhhhh! I knew someone was going to say this  >:( >:( >:(

It's not out of the realm of possibility for the Oilers to be in the mix for that top spot yet again.  Unless McDavid comes back and Sparks (see what I did there?) this team, they're headed for another 28th-30th finish.

Heck, when they were chosen last season it was at a point where the Leafs had the best remaining odds for #1 right?  After Edmonton didn't even finish last.

I can't even begin to imagine the look on Bill Daly's face if he were forced to announce the Oilers winning the lottery again next year.  I bet he'd have to practice a neutral, indifferent delivery a hundred times first, and he'd still pretty much inveitably have a look of, "This is the most tragically comic thing any human has ever been obligated to announce.  Please don't kill me, as I too also hate what I'm about to tell you."

If that were to happen, I have to think they'd finally get around to preventing it from happening again.

Seriously.  How hard is it to have a rule that says that #1 lottery winners are ineligible for the following year's #1?  Maybe even for the top 3.

And call it the "Oilers Statute".

At the very least, a limit of 3 every 5 years or something.
