Preseason GDT3: Leafs @ Flyers W4-2

Great blocker save from Goose.

Dupuis and Boyce both looked pretty good tonight. Don't know who I'd rather have. Although I think I'd rather get rid of Orr and maybe go with Boyce - Dupuis - Brown

I still say that Orr should be the 13th man and only play when the other team has a tough guy in the line up. He really doesn't even bring as much as Rosehill on the shift to shift basis. I would much rather have the line you suggest as the regular guys.

Gus should not make the team. Scrivens is much more composed and looks far better. On merit of training camp it should be Reimer and Scrivens.

I don't see a 1A/1B situation. Reimer is the starter, and most likely Gustavsson is the backup.

Good on Wilson having the kids out there in the important situation.

Frattin, Mikus, Damigo, Colborne, Gardiner and Scrivens stood out.

Dupuis looked like a very respectable role player too.

Yup. Goose is all over the place. He doesn't look calm looking for the puck, he seems really jittery when he can't see it. Scrivens should've had one goal scored on him but the post bailed him out. Other than that I don't see any major issues with his game.

Scrivens should challenge Goose right down to the wire.

I think the goalie situation will come down to as someone said, who do they want to be a backup to Reimer.  I suspect they'd rather have Scrivens starting most games in the AHL, that and they don't have to expose him to waivers like they do Goose.

They stream all 51 of those games + pre-season.  Between Leafs TV Online (51) and CBC (24), you'll get 75 regular season games legally.

I had the service last year - well worth it considering I don't spend $60+ per month on cable.

Yeah I ponied up the $40.  I don't have cable either and compared to that it's a hell of a bargain even though I know how to get (much crappier) streams for free.

What's with the last 7 games?  I guess games that TSN or sportsnet didn't give the streaming rights to, maybe games that they plan on streaming themselves?

CBC games are beauty on OTA HD.

Can us folks in the states subscribe to this?  Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for.

Toronto broadcast region only. :(

I was starting to wonder if that's why both Scrivens and Goose are splitting duties.  If they're actually in competition with each other for backup...

I'd be pretty happy with that.

Good show, always liked the Mikus, he's a year away roughly, if he stays healthy.

Scrivens has a lot more to show before beating Goose out for a spot, he's ok but he hasn't played a real game yet.

Sigh.

The NHL sure makes it hard as hell for fans to LEGALLY WATCH THE DAMN GAMES.

For someone outside the Leafs broadcast region, you could look into NHL Gamecenter online.  However, with that one, it's something like $250 for the year because it's for all hockey (not just leafs).  So, not quite as nice on the wallet, but it's an option.

edit: Actually, it's only $159 CAD: https://gamecenter.nhl.com/nhlgc/secure/gclsignup

That's only 2.7 months worth of TV service. :o

Thanks, that was the other option I was going to check out.  Any idea whether they include HNIC Leafs games?
