Randy Carlyle/Leaf Coach thread

I would fire him the very second the Leafs are mathematically eliminated this season.  This baffoon doesn't deserve to finish this season.  Zero motivational capabilities, zero common sense, zero ability to adapt, I can't look at his face any longer.  Last night I watched the assistants take charge behind the bench as RC shakes his head.  This is so hard to stomach.

In the post-gamer last night he used the Tampa game as evidence of a game they should have won during this streak.  That 1st shot that Reimer let in when he never saw the puck, I'll give him that one (I guess, because I really don't).  But a game where you left Steven Stamkos wide open for one-timers from 15 feet is a game you think the team deserved to win?

I honestly think the guy is completely delusional about the product that he is commanding out on the ice.

As far as Carlyle's comments about Reimer go. Saying that a goaltender just "played OK" isn't a terrible comment on it's own but...in the context of a season where you're goaltending has been the main strength of the team, getting peppered every night & holding the team in there. It was an INCREDIBLY IDIOTIC comment to make. You can say these guys are supposed to brush it off but they're not robots. It put heat on Reimer, who never played good after that, it put massive heat on Bernier to come back early from injury & be the savior because of Reimer's struggles.

Coaches are supposed to relieve the pressure on their players, not add to it. Hell that is why there is even a unwritten rule that you leave the goaltending alone. Carlyle wanted to get his shot in instead of putting the team first. This is one, along with many other reasons why he should be gone after this season.

I think that it is fair to say that Carlyle is done at this point barring a miracle similar to aa keeping gibbons after the jays last season.

I just read this link and it says all that can be said, it encapsulates everything we are all saying and more. http://blueandwhitebrotherhood.blogspot.com/2014/03/whats-wrong-with-leafs.html

That article is just about perfect.  It sounds like we all wrote it by committee.  I hope Nonis is paying attention - hell, I hope the whole team knows the score because part of bouncing back next year is going to depend on them forgetting all the stupid crap Carlyle taught them to do.

Also, for some reason, when I read this:
But Bolland himself has admitted that he can barely turn to his left.

I immediately thought of this:

Great article.  I agree with it all.  Kind of makes the 1st major move that the Leafs are going to make a bit obvious....right Nonis??

I hope we get a good player's coach like Nolan,  Roy, or Babcock. The players in Toronto have enough pressure on them already. The last thing they need is a prick coach like Wilson or Carlyle.

Although I wouldn't say he is ready, it is really quite remarkable what Steve Spott has done with this Marlies team this year.  41-20-2-4 on a team that really shouldn't be anywhere near that.  This was supposed to be a tough year for them.

Is Paul Maurice going to stay in Winnipeg.  I heard he wanted to think it over in the summer.  I wouldn't mind seeing him back.  He got a 37 win season out of Raycroft, imagine if he had a goaltender like Bernier.

So...you're like the last person in the world that those 37 wins mean something to, huh?
