Schenn's Next deal

They're going to package him with Kadri or Colborne for a left-winger. :)

I see.  Are you thinking of any left winger in particular?  Perhaps one coming off a season-long knee injury who has signed a 1-year deal before becoming a UFA?  That would be a pretty big risk wouldn't it.  Would you deal Schenn and Kadri for such a winger if given the choice right now?

I heard that pkg but for a puck-moving defenceman.

Interesting, if you could have either a puck-moving defenceman or a left winger, which would you choose?  I would take the defenceman.

I heard it was for Tomas Kaberle from Carolina.

Hey does his brother still play there.

Long gone from Carolina to Europe

Too bad, that would have been intresting to see them together.

I would if you replaced Schenn with a lesser defenseman... but only if said injured player makes a full comeback.

It certainly is strange we haven't seen a deal yet. You would think negotiations would be pretty straight forward. Perhaps Burke and co. have been on vacation for a loooooong time..

Four of the biggest name RFAs without contracts (Doughty, Schenn, Bailey, Marchand) are all represented by the same agency, Newport Sports (with Don Meehan and Pat Morris). Maybe they're focusing on the biggest name (Doughty) right now. Or maybe they're just playing hardball with all their negotiations. Could just be a coincidence though. But these guys also represent Brad Richards and so were responsible for the fiasco that happened with him on July 1st.

I don't think Burke should trade Schenn for anything.  With Schenn, the Leafs have 5 solid d-men + Komisarek.  Take Schenn out of the picture and that leaves 4 solid d-men + Komisarek.  Even if one or two of the d-men prospects turns out to be decent, the team can never have enough d-men.  If it turns out the Leafs have 6 decent d-men + Schenn, put Schenn on the wing.

First of all welcome to the site!

Second, why would you want to switch Schenn to the wing, seems like people always want to switch Dmen to a forward position, when it's rarely done, especially with a player that has played defense his whole career and isn't known for offense either.

hahahahaahahahah

that's funnier than 'Kaberle should be a forward'!!!

Seriously, at least Kaberle had a penchant for offense.

Well, that's why he put him on the wing.  If Kaberle moved to forward, he was supposed to play centre.
