A "dull/fun" axis?

Nice scientific-looking scatterplottish graphic.  Does it really mean anything?

Dull/Fun = Low/High Shots Against
Bad/Good = Low/High Shots For

You want to see your name in the top right, not the bottom left.

If you're towards the bottom right, like Rielly tends to be, you're a very high event player (lots of chances going both ways).

Tortorella (CBJ) has scratched Jack Johnson (CBJ) and Brandon Dubinsky (CBJ) for tonight's match up against Canada.

Todd McLellan says his appreciation for how good Morgan Rielly is has gone way up in this tournament.

Peter Chiarelli was speaking very highly of Morgan too last night during one of the intermissions.

Morgan Rielly for Connor McDavid, straight up please?

Nice gesture to give a bunch of new Canadian citizens a Jersey to start things off. Even if that guy at the front is one of them.

Rielly blamed himself for Kuznetsov goal. When told this, McLellan said that's a "sign of maturity" since Murray should have stopped it.

Mo' love for our Mo.

I kind of blame MacLellan for playing Murray back to back, and credit Kuznetsov on that very pretty move. Still, gap control could be better/more aggressive to force an outside backhand.

2-1 CAN less than 10 minutes in. Canada roars back with two immediate goals after the US took an early 1-0 lead.

Edit: 3-1 now thanks to Duchene's second of the period.

Oh boy did I ever miss Don Cherry. Praises O'Reilly for not blindly throwing the puck into the middle of the ice (where literally no Canadians were) and then praises Duchene for not overly celebrating which is something because he used to be "a bit of a hotdog".

I wish I had the US feed. Brett Hull was apparently just absolutely ripping into the American team on ESPN.

I don't think the US has even played that poorly. They're playing the type of game they were built to play. They're just built to play a style of hockey that isn't going to be successful at this level.

Have to say there's really something encouraging about the way Babcock seems to be able to get a team full of stars with varying skillsets and little experience together committed to playing such a smart, disciplined game. Definitely makes you think that when the talent is around him here they'll be able to take full advantage.

That and, quite frankly, I don't think the talent is there.
