I wonder if that's why Tavares had a personal day off today.
My first thought when I saw the Babcock headline after reading about Tavares was, hope his "personal" issue isn't that he doesn't want to play for a rookie coach. Seriously doubt it, but you never know.
Perhaps Tavares is going to brief Keefe on the flight back to AZ.
Definitely a more positive way to look at it!

Not gonna lie, I was saying Babs was the issue with his stubbornness etc etc, but now it's ALL on the players..and if
this doesn't work (the big guys don't respond) the Leafs are in a whole world of hurt.

If that happens, then next stage it will be all (eyes) on Dubas.  🤔

Should have fired Dubas as well

Yep.
Crazy, see my last post on Page 3 or 4 on this..Dubas wanted to replace Bab's in the summer. Shanahan would not let him.  If Keefe had been running the team from the start I think we would have been a lot better off.  Thats how much respect Mike had from the top.

In what world does a GM get 18 months, doesn?t get to hire his own coach and gets fired?

Dubas should not be fired.  Way too soon.  But he should not be teflon here either.  This is all his team and these have been the results.  I don't think Babcock should shoulder 100% of the blame.

Players that Sheldon Keefe is quite familiar with:
William Nylander, Zach Hyman, Kasperi Kapanen, Andreas Johnsson, Travis Dermott, Trevor Moore, Martin Marincin, Justin Holl, Frederik Gauthier, Dmytro Timashov, Kasmir Kaskisuo, Pierre Engvall

Lets hope that he can get rid of them down the road.  Hakstol is not my choice, perhaps he was Dubas which I find hard to believe.  If so lets hope Keefe has the control he needs.

Funny how he got fired in Scottsdale Arizona.

Babs is not 100% at fault. We all know that but it's his system and the team is not responding anymore.

As in should have, obviously it would have been unorthodox for Dubas to be fired as well.

I wouldn't have hired Dubas, I would have gone with Hunter.

His 3 big re-signings were not "wins". He bungled the back up goalie situation. Both defensemen trades this summer were big misses. I have reasons why i have doubt in Dubas' ability.

As astray Babcock went in his performance, Dubas has been just as culpable.

Certainly his system and the magic question is if it was the players choosing to not play Babcock's system or to me, it was far more Babcock's outright refusal to attempt any kind of adjustments/experiments that to us fans just seemed so obvious. I just think Babcock was doing this to show everyone he was in charge and an FU to everyone else. Otherwise why wouldn't he try Barrie on #1 PP, and why have Ceci
on #1 pairing (when this was the issue in Ottawa or play the 4th line right after a goal all the time (as examples)?
