Gotta love lazar. Looks like a kid who just loves the game. Reminds me of Duchene.

Not trying to be a jerk or whatever...but they all look like they love the game to me.

I don't think that was an unfair comment to make.  It's been made by a few of people that Lazar has one of those effusive personalities where his positivity and enthusiasm bleeds out.

Like 99% of the players junior aged appear like that to me.  Don't know what a positive/effusive personality has to do with loving the game.

In the relegation game, Switzerland made short work of Team Germany in  a 5-2 victory.

This was Game1 in the Best-of-Three Relegation round.  Whoever wins this round will be given a spot in the top pool as towards next year's (2016) World Juniors.
The losing nation will be relegated.

The losing nation will trade places with Belarus, who won the Div. 1 tournament. They should be back in 2017 as I doubt Norway or Latvia will challenge whoever gets relegated.

Canada overwhelms Denmark 8-0, in the quarter-final played at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.  This was not lost on Connor McDavid,  nor his linemate Curtis Lazar, each with three ooints on the night.

"It's a dream come true to skate out there," McDavid said of the incredible crowd in Toronto. "The atmosphere was pretty special, but that's kind of what I was expecting. The fans were great."

Other Canadian scorers were Lawton Crouse, Brayden Point, Nick Paul, and Reinhart.

Reinhart, like all of Canada's players, were awed by the reception the ACC crowd accorded them. "It was awesome. This doesn't happen very much in your life, so you have to take it all in. This is one of the best crowds I've ever played in front of."

Canada will play Slovakia in the semi-final game slated for Sunday

Slovakia outplayed the Czech Republic with a well-earned 3-0 shutout win in their quarter-final matchup.

The Slovaks are yearning for a medal in this tournament and were well-prepared to defeat the Czech Republic, enroute to what they hope will eventually lead to greater glory.

Slovakia's next game is against Team Canada in the semi-final Sunday.

Couple of big matches today. Sweden vs. Russia in half an hour, and Canada vs. Slovakia at 8pm.

I won't even touch the Canada game, but I think Sweden can get past Russia.

It would be nice to see a big game from Nylander, in such an  important game.

Re:. Canada-Denmark game

Nice gesture on the part of the Danes to salute the ACC crowd:

?We wanted to go out and play hard and try to win, but we weren?t on our game and Canada is good, obviously,? Ehlers said. ?But I have to say I?m proud of the guys in the dressing room. We?re coming back next year. All I have to say now is good luck to Canada. I have a few buddies on their team. I?m very happy with where we are right now, but obviously a little bit upset about the score as well.?

Ehlers echoed the sentiments expressed by the whole team of the crowd cheers during the post-game ceremonies. ?It felt great,? he said. ?It means that the fans still are kind of our cheerleaders even though we were playing against Canada. It felt great being out there. It felt great playing against Canada, one of the best teams in the world. We?re satisfied with what we achieved here.?

Hah, they gave Sweden's player of the game to their goalie, who was pretty unimpressive. Nylander was by-far their best guy.
