WJHC (World Junior Hockey Championships) 2016

Canada is locked into 3rd place. The US will have 8 or 9 points after they beat Denmark, plus they hold the tie-breaker over Canada. Sweden already has 9 points and Canada's maximum is 8 points if they beat Sweden in regulation. Finland and the Czech Republic face each other tomorrow in Pool B. The winner of that game will be Canada's opponent in the QF's.

Man Marner looks so fast and skilled. Lost the puck, took it back, slated around the team.

Canada with a horrible start.

Timashov looks good. If we can't get one of the two Finns I'd love to have Alex Nylander.

Frantic pace to the first. Canada looks outclassed so far. Only Canadian I noticed was Marner - he looks like he's out there with something to prove

I feel like it went high anyway, but that move/shot by Marner was unreal.
I feel like he, and the team, just can't catch a break.

Yeah, unless they can step up their games I'm not liking our chances against Finland. That's a very tough quarterfinal match-up.

TSN just said that the Canadians have reached the semi-finals 17 consecutive times. Again, they're going to be the big underdogs to keep that streak going.

This Canadian powerplay has really been pretty content with just keeping everyone stationary and moving the puck around the outside and then shooting into traffic. Not exactly a recipe for success.

Marner imo with a pretty good game, it's just this team is not good. I've seen him thread the needle a few times with his linemates unable to bury some great chances. The team as a whole though make some very questionable decisions with the puck. Near the end of the game a Dman made a horrendous errant pass to lose the attacking zone. There wasn't even any pressure on him! Like, come on.

We simply do not have a very good team here, especially with guys like Domi and Duclair in the NHL.

The 19 year olds have stunk.  That's been the biggest issue IMO.  Not sure why they were super quick to split up Marner and Strome but keep throwing Quenneville out there.
