Madferret said:What a disaster. I don't think losing Neymar hurt Brazil as much as losing Silva at the back did - that was schoolboy defending. They just fell apart after the Muller goal opened the scoring. I feel bad for the little kids they were showing crying in the stands - nothing like experiencing the crushing lows of being a sports fan at 8 years old.

That would make a statement for the European game over it's
South American counterpart.
A Germany- Holland WC Final I'm eagerly anticipating.
JohnK's Revenge said:Didn't much like the Brazilians in this tournament. They were not a good team defensively, even from the first game against Croatia. That said all the Germany praise is a little bit overblown. They were solid for the 2-0 lead as the Brazilians
were struggling to defend, but everything from that point on was a training
exercise. The Brazilians were having a nervous breakdown on a world stage.
The team totally fractured, some players stopped, others tried to do it all
themselves. 4 goals in six minutes, that doesn't happen to a world class team
that still has their mental composure. So it's lovely to heap the praise on
Germany, but they struggled against Ghana, barely beat the USA, they weren't
dominant against Algeria. If they win it will be because of their goalie. He's been
the best one of the tournament.

Interesting to hear the post game on this one. This wasn't the game i expected from the dutch at all. It felt like they weren't willing to go for it.
hockeyfan1 said:Kudos to Holland. In regulation play, they are unbeaten plus this third place finish was their best World Cup position since losing in the WC Final in '78.
Feel bad for Brazil. They should have tried to salvage some pride but then again, they just seemed so lacking without Neymar & Silva. Whatever happened to the Brazilian style of teams past? This one certainly doesn't carry it.
Hup Holland! Well done!
