If this was the case there would be other measures involved to help teams out. Guaranteed. Most of the league would be completely screwed here, not just the Leafs.
Yeah, I agree.
Looking back on this season, one of the regrets I have and a place where I went wrong is that I think we probably should have given [Robertson] a few NHL exhibition games so that he had that under his belt heading into future seasons and played the long game a little bit more. That is something I look back on and regret because I think he did earn them. We just, at that time, felt that we were going to get to our pro guys and have our other players go back to junior. We wish we would?ve done that, but we will give him every opportunity this year.

A projected cap of 73M. The Leafs are pretty much screwed.
We have 76.9M tied into the roster right now of:
Forwards: Matthews, Tavares, Marner, Nylander, Kerfoot, Hyman, Kapanen, Engvall
Defense: Rielly, Muzzin, Sandin, Rosen, Marincin, Holl
Goal: Andersen, Campbell
So 4 forwards short of a full roster and no healthy scratches and still have to cut 3.9M in cap space to get cap compliant. There are going to have to be some pretty creative things done to protect teams.

Chatting about Robertson, KHL imports and other stuff

CarltonTheBear said:I thought they might keep him around for a little bit since SDA survived for about a week and played a pre-season game last season. Obviously not to give him a chance to make the team but just to have him experience a NHL camp for a little bit.
Especially looking at the 2014 date!!bustaheims said:L K said:http://twitter.com/PierreVLeBrun/status/542089029240778753?s=19

I can't believe you fell for this frank.
L K said:Yeah, sorry everyone. I tried to make it by the Noon deadline. I think technically I started the post well before noon and then got tied up on the phone before I could finish. Completely forgot it was April 1st until about 11:00AM.
