Hyman seems like he'd be a good Seattle signing. He's not super expensive so he's unlikely to be a real problem cap wise near the end of the deal and in the short-term he helps with the floor. He's not good enough that he'd jeopardize a plan to bottom feed and acquire assets but he's good enough to contribute if the plan is to try and do what Vegas did.

I always figured he was Edmonton bound, but Seattle makes sense too. Maybe Colorado if Landeskog does indeed leave.

If Edmonton ends up with Keith and Hyman on their cap for 12 million-ish next year then, well, I'm already happy with the offseason.

I don't really see Hyman getting that much but yeah it would be the perfect situation for me because I could be happy for Hyman and laugh at Edmonton at the same time.

There's no way Holland hasn't called about his rights.

Landeskog would be a great upgrade for the top 6, but, yeah, he?s definitely going to come in at a price tag the Leafs can?t afford. Also, adding him doesn?t really help fix the depth scoring issues. The team needs guys outside the top 6 who can contribute offensively.

If you are Colorado do you want to cap crunch the team with Hyman when MacKinnon is up for renewal in 2 years?

I mean if Landeskog goes they're going to need to bring in someone to replace him and Hyman brings some similar attributes. Obviously they aren't going to throw $6.5-7mil at him, especially since they apparently won't be Landeskog, but I think people are getting a little silly suggesting he's going to end up with those types of offers.

Bonkers.

Landeskog is a tricky one for me because I think he's a guy who could be extremely useful for a team like the Leafs filling the same sort of role he did on Colorado but I'd be pretty wary about signing a 28 year old to a long term deal without really knowing what he is removed from one of the most offensively talented lines in hockey.

Like, I think he's a good player in any situation but if he wants to get paid like the near PPG player he's been...I'm not sure that's a real reflection of what he brings to the table in another situation.

Don?t we have like 37 assistant coaches now?

It's important to have a lot of assistant coaches when they're running independent fiefdoms that Keefe and Dubas are powerless to control.

We can do this?

Don?t we have like 37 assistant coaches now?
I won't be satisfied until each player has their own personal assistant coach behind the bench.  I wanna see 20 assistants behind the bench.

Gotta have defence coach, an offence coach, a PK coach, a PP coach, a goalie coach, a face off coach, a skating coach, a video coach, a coaching coach, an equipment coach?

And the more I think of it, the more I'm just shrugging.
Unless there is a side deal, then I'm sour, because why.

Are Kerfoot, Dermott, McCann all individually better (or project to be better) than Holl? 1v1 at this very moment, yeah. So that feels like a 'loss' to many, especially so quickly after the Jared McCann hype arrived. The process here seemed to be 'which expendable part is easiest to replace?'.
