2022 NHL Draft Discussion

I hate when they say "the next 10 years" for every single player.

How many guys actually go on to play in thier draft city for 10 years.

The thing is, it's just not good analysis. Like, Wright is an OHL exceptional player, expected to go #1 all year, drops to #4 and there's not even a word about why that might have happened. Instead it's like five minutes where they all but say he's the second coming of the #5 scorer in NHL history.

Buddy had this queued up ready to go once Wright was finally picked

Am I the only one who doesn't really get the Dach trade? Like, if you have a 21 year old C with size who a team took with the #3 pick three years ago and they're willing to let him go for the #13 pick...that's probably a bad sign?

Completely confused with Chicago's thinking here. First Debrincat now Dach. Zee you're bang on obviously tanking for next year. I get the rebuilding but doesn't make sense trading 2 young players who should have been part of the future for the Hawks.

I mean, Dach makes sense if their new brain trust doesn't think much of him. He's not DeBrincat with a couple of 40 goal seasons.

Dach hasn?t shown much in his (albeit limited) NHL time so far. Good chance that, in the end, the Hawks maxed out their value here.

DeBrincat makes sense if Chicago is really doing a full tear down. They didn?t get the best value, but if he didn?t want to stick around through the rebuild, this draft was probably their best opportunity to get full value out of moving him. Not the best deal, but I get the thinking.

Congrats to Ivan Miroschnichenko for battling back from cancer and getting drafted, round 1 no less
