2023-24 NHL Thread

Huberdeau looks awful, his stat line are all zeros (2 shots in 5 games)? It's funny how almost everyone involved with the Calgary shakeup seems to be struggling including Huberdeau, Kadri, Tkachuk, and Gaudreau.

Kadri maybe overcast, Tkachuk will be fine, but Huberdeau and Gaudreau look lost.

Mostly, I'm concerned about who put that Calgary team together.

What is Chucky Jr whining about? Great play

If you watch the replay, you'll see the goalie using his stick to take out his skate and not the puck.  It was a little greasy.

So Edmonton ended up wining that game 4-1...it's pretty incredible that they're only 1 game out of wildcard spot today.

It's a bit of a shame how Chicago has no one for Bedard to play with.  18 years old and he's carrying the offensive load for an NHL team.  That's tough.

They'll get another lottery pick to help out soon enough.

He?s going for where he expected the puck to go, just his timing was a little off. Sloth is overreacting.

On that note though, poke checks his skate and not the puck.  How does that end up as a legal hockey play.

I think Tkachuk's reaction was a bit of the top but it does bring into question what exactly players are allowed to do in those situations. Kochetkov went for a poke check, which is of course entirely fair game. But he missed the puck entirely, during regular play would that not be a tripping penalty on him? And if so, do tripping penalties or penalties of any kind just not exist in penalty shot/shootout situations?
