So no one can discuss the game until someone does it good enough for you? Good luck with that.

Don't be obtuse. You're smarter than this.

Best ever use of the word obtuse was in Shawshank Redemption. Thanks for making me think of that great movie.

Now now, it's in WKRP in Cincinnati, classic Nessman...

I like this gameday thread/opening post, seems appropriate.

I also have kept up to date with media updates so I know who is injured. Also, I dont believe there are set lines yet. Any other marginal information I want to know I'd look up on nhl or yahoosports or something.

But this is coming from a guy with few standards ;)

My prediction: Nas 4 Leafs 1

As I said to Fanatic, the post has traditionally contained useful information. I have complained in the past, and will continue to do so, should the initial post in the thread contain no useful information regarding the game. Unless it is a placeholder post, it's a waste.

Do you find any part of this ironic?  I mean the first thing you so callously quipped was "does your post count mean that much?"  And now here you are, making the same post in multiple threads, an issue everyone is aware you have, and no one cares.

Quit complaining and quit being a hypocrite.

I for one, never really read the opening post in a GDT.

Following Seigel on twitter gets me all the line-up information I need sent to my phone.

Well, the only way to respond to a new comment is to reply, so unfortunately, it does indeed affect post count. However, that's never really been important to me. I do know it seems to be of vital import to some though.

And I'll complain when I want to, thanks. You're not my mom.

I hope to see the 2-0-0, 1.44 GAA and .962 sv% Scrivens in net tonight (by the way, those are his away stats).

Go Leafs Go!!!

Good grief Mordac.  Last I knew, nobody on here is getting paid to set up these threads.  If the initial post in the GDT doesn't meet your standards, take it upon yourself to contribute one that does.  Simple as that.

MAPLE LEAFS (10-6-2) at PREDATORS (9-5-3)

No Reimer. No MacArthur. No Grabbo. No Army. At least Kerry Fraser won't be the referee.

Scrivens gets the start, Connolly will be back, Franson will dress. (Per Leafs TV)

feel free to amend to put in lines and D combos once they're announced.

Lupul - Tyler "Ride the coattails" Bozak - Kessel
Kulemin - Connolly - Joey "Liked as much as the STI" Crabb
Wow the lineup is starting to get bad - Steckel - Lombardi?
Gardiner "why call up Kadri when you can play a somewhat struggling defenseman at forward" - ummmm that guy in the stands so we don't have to dress Rosehill - Gustavsson - Ron needs to blame someone post-game

I like your lineup.  Is Kadri really not getting a call-up?

Maybe so -- I don't follow them -- but he was solid last year so I'd give it a whirl.  It's not like our D could be much worse.

Even still, he's just getting back from an injury. At least give him a few games to get his legs under him before putting him in an NHL line up for the first time since April.

Point taken.  But sooner rather than later I'd like to see him given another shot.  He was pretty solid last year.

Gee, I'm sorry my GDT starter didn't meet up with your high standards. There were no lines set yet. I listed the important stuff- place, time, broadcast info. I listed those who I knew were injured from what little information there was (and cited it, which isn't always done either) And I even invited people to update it with line combos when they became aware of them. I did it because it was less than 24 hours to game time and hadn't been done yet, and people wanted to talk about the game.

I even reigned in the urge to litter the post with bear pictures.

Next time, you do it then.

and FYI, I just freakin' updated it too. Anyone who's staff or a moderator can easily update the initial post in the GDT by clicking 'modify' and adding that stuff.

To the posters who like to complain about the GDT's lately, be happy someone took the time to make one, rather then complain, find the info and put it in the already made GDT :)

I like making them, but life has been really busy lately with training out of town or when I'm at work long days. I just wrote my final exam which took 5 hours, but am also in the middle of working towards another trade with the company and after that I want to get a third trade. If you want to make a GDT and don't know where to get the info, ice chips is a fantastic source, as well as googling "visiting team name lines" to get them. Use my template if you want, its pretty simple to edit, just quote the post and copy all the info, and then edit it for the game.

Cheers!

Nothing wrong with your GDT, I like it :)
