Huge by Reimer to make that save and cover up as the Leafs top line gets hemmed in for another 25 minutes.

But really didn't give up a great chance, it was nothing but cycling.  Not great, but not a total breakdown.

Absolutely, the best chance came at the very end, and even then it was a tough angle shot (although they did finally get a guy relatively open).  In general I really haven't been disappointed in Kessel/Lupul's defensive play this year.  They aren't ever going to be confused for a Toews type of two-way force but they did a good job positionally.  I think they got helped out a bit by LA being selfish and not bringing on fresh legs sooner though.

was that a no look backhand by Kessel to Lupul? Not seen the replay of it yet. Great pass either way and shows the chemistry.

Have the Jays signed Yu Darvish yet?

You know, I'd be curious to see if there is a relationship between PK success and shot blocking. I understand the thinking on it but I sometimes think the instinct to block shots leads to a lot of out of position defensemen and screened goalies.

NHL's blocked shots stats have Montreal at #1 in both blocked shots and PK%.  Minny is #2 and #8 PK.

But then you have Carolina and Toronto as #3 and #4 in blocks and both in the bottom 5 of PK%.

Were there any pk blocked shot stats?

I've been disappointed in Lupul defensively.  He seems to leave his point man open all the time.  While Kessel is not great at getting it out along the boards, I was watching him a bit that last sequence and he was following his D a couple times as they tried to sneak in for a backdoor pass.

Great pass from Kessel

Great save from Reimer

A couple key non calls from the refs.

They've hardly called anyting.

Expect a majorly embarassing soft penalty soon.

One thing the Leafs need to work on is being more aggressive with pucks on the board.  They have waited for the puck to come to them a few times and the Kings have come in with speed to take the puck away and keep their cycle going.

Last few shifts are Wilson's defensive coverage incaranted.

I would be ecstatic with nothing but cycling and no great chances against.

Cycling picks this team apart. When Canucks where cycling in our zone all it was needed was the Benny Hill soundtrack while our players chased the puck like a bunch of idiots.

What a joke listening to this whole controversy about not having a french speaking coach in Montreal. Only thing I can say is WHO CARES.

Apparently, Montreal.

Not to drag this out, but if they hired a non-English speaking coach for the Leafs I would think that we'd be annoyed but because we're in the majority hockey-wise we're a bit baffled at it.

Maybe Wilson could pretend to not speak English? Or we could hire
Esa Tikanen as our coach. He can't speak any language.

Just a little reminder of Tik. Lamajama go to the 1:00 mark gets good after that WTF is he saying. Priceless.
