Game 7 - Leafs @ Habs - Saturday Oct 22nd 2011 - 19:00 EST - 5-4 Win

I fear this game tonight like I feared Thursday night. Habs have 1 win, are desperate and playing at home. Leafs record is still good, no sense of urgency for the Leafs. It could be ugly. :(

I think there should be a sense of urgency though, they need to eliminate the problems in their overall game, before it spiral's out of control like it did last season. This is the time to come back and show some resiliency.

Tonight could be an early bellwether game. Last season, after the first regulation loss of the season, things started to fall apart for the Leafs as it 2nd game in a stretch where they only won 1 of 13 games - which played a large part in them missing the playoffs. How they come out tonight after a really poor showing against Boston could be telling.

Did it happen to say whether or not Bozak's foot is broken?

I haven't heard anything except that he is out due to a foot injury, I am sure if it was broken we would have heard by now.

I was thinking the same... I badly want this one.  :-\

To me, a win is a little less important than how they actually play. Last year, their quality of play fell off a cliff and it took them until January to really recover. That can't happen this year. Even if they lose, as long as they play well tonight, that's probably a sign that this team is much more resilient than last year's squad. As long as they don't less the losses rack up, a loss tonight is not a big deal.

That being said, losing the Habs is never acceptable. ;D

I say what comes around comes around. The Bruins will come into Toronto tired, and the Leafs will be ready.
The season will have ups, and downs. If they compete and lose i can handle that.
Leafs win a close one.

Go Leafs.

Indeed.  I was going to say that tonight's game could be indicative of whether this team has made any progress or not.  How they respond to being thumped will be telling.

A win tonight would show they can be a resilient bunch.  It won't be easy though as Montreal's had a rough start themselves so they could go Boston 2.0 on us.

Bruins could come in dog tired and half injured as long as they have Thomas going -- he can pretty much win a game for them even if the entire team sucks.

Despite the Habs slow start, I expect them to be in the hunt for a playoff spot with the Leafs - so we have to think of this as a very important 4 point game.

That third line looks intriguing to me, could do some damage. ( hopefully the right kind :) )

I don't know, I think Steckel is becoming slowly overrated because of his faceoff success. I really haven't seen too much out of him besides that. Granted, it's only one game, but it's too bad we didn't have the roster room to give Colborne a shot there.
